The Great Cake Giveaway!!
>> 7.17.2011
We has several nominations come in for very deserving people. I could not have decided myself, (cause I would have made one for all of them :). I took the nominations to our run for God meeting and let them decided. We had almost 30 people vote and it came down to a REALLY close race. Kristi Land said that her cloverleaf softball team was the most deserving. Here is what she had to say..
Hey Tori! I have a nomination, and I know I'm a little partial... I think our Colts team should be surprised with this. These girls have really come together and learned what being a team really means this year. They worked through hard practices, tough games, and being treated unfairly on the field. Still... they kept their motivation up, cheered each other on, and when a bad call was made that could bring them victory, they chose to do the right thing... they told about the error. Reward for being honest and playing fairly... they still won the game with the very next pitch. When asked if they would do anything different, they all agreed that the wins AND the losses brought them to be the team they are today.
Teamwork, great coaching, and confidence brought them to the championship game and WON IT. When our tournaments began, we started having a pre-game prayer with the whole team. The girls loved it, parents thanked us and supported our decision, and we felt the difference in the feeling of the game after that. The girls asked if we could start doing that each year before EVERY GAME AND PRACTICE.
Words cannot express my gratitude for the hard work these girls have done this season or the growth of the team. These girls all hold a special place in my heart! THEY deserve recognition for this effort and growth this season. It truly goes to show that faith in God and confidence that He is with us through it all really makes a huge difference. :)

I also had seen a post on Chasity Blevins page for a little girl named Aailyah. She is barely 2 years old and had a brain tumor removed. My heart was broken. So I added her to the list of folks to be nominated. Here is the latest update from her sweet mommy! Shannon Schulze
Ok I'm a little behind but here is the Princess' update... She was diagnosed yesterday with Medulloblastoma. Our next route after healing from the surgery will be chemo and eventually radiation when she reaches a safe age. She has had a couple of rough patches, they added seven more stitches due to drainage today and moved her back to intermediate care because of a high heart rate. Neurologically she looks great but she is possibly dehydrated and also has a UTI. As far as treatment goes she has a lot going on for her... they believe they removed all of the tumor and also her spinal fluid was normal and showed no signs of cells. She has God on her side and an attitude that won't stop. The road ahead is going to be long but she is going to be just fine!!!
Since both of those were so amazing and the race was so close we decided to do one for both!!! Please keep Aaliyah and her family in your prayers.
We are growing as a business. Please make sure to share our blog and our page Cake Runners on facebook!!
Here are our latest cakes
1 Corinthians 9:24 Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You must also run in such a way that you will will.
